This is the special HA1D model, which does everything the standard HA1 does, plus you can use a Crescent wrench to adjust with the door totally closed. The best of both worlds.
The HA1is the most common Hinge Doctor for commercial hinges. It is designed for ball bearing hinges in the 4.5" x 4.5" size. It will fit over a maximum knuckle size of .640". For slightly larger hinges use the HA3 Hinge Doctor tool. For very large institutional hinges use the HA4 Hinge Doctor.
One of the most common problems you run into is when the top of the door is rubbing on the frame. Since the top hinge often takes the most pressure, it's often the one that needs adjusted first.
This Hinge Doctor is easy to use, and you can adjust a worn hinge in only 15 seconds, without removing the door or hinge. Make sure that all the screws are securing the hinge to the frame. Then simply close the door, and slip the tool over the top hinge. Slowly open the door until you feel the door binding. Once you feel this resistance, keep pulling the door another few inches. Close the door, and remove the tool.
Check the door and see if your problems are resolved. In some cases, you may need to repeat this on the middle hinge, or repeat on the top hinge a second time. Is is quite rare to use this on the bottom hinge.
